Andrian on the South Tyrol Wine Road

Explore the Southern Side of South Tyrol

The Sonngart is surrounded by orchards and vineyards and is located just outside the village of Andrian on the South Tyrolean Wine Road. There are a number of beautiful destinations to explore in the immediate vicinity.

The beautiful old city of Meran with its Kurhaus spa and historic arcades is a wonderful destination to take a leisurely stroll along the promenade, bask in the Alpine-Mediterranean atmosphere of the spa town and enjoy a spot of shopping. If you’re looking for peace, perfect peace you will find a true oasis of wellness in the Meran spa, while nature lovers will be entranced by the botanical gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle.

Bozen is the capital and the hub of South Tyrol, and few cities offer as many contrasts: Traditional and modern, Italian and South Tyrolean, Alpine and Mediterranean. Take a trip to the Museum of Archeology with Ötzi, the Museum of Modern Art, the Bozen Cathedral, the historic arcades, the Waltherplatz square and the fruit market.

Eppan offers two very special natural spectacles: when everywhere else there is still snow on the ground, the Spring Valley offers you blooming flowers and the ice holes offer a constant 4 °C temperature. It is also worth seeing the fortress triangle of Eppan-Boymont-Korb and the Messner Mountain Museum.

In the surrounding area, there are numerous wine-growing estates, which can be visited and where you can enjoy some wine tasting! The Andrian & Terlan wine cellars are the oldest wine-growing estates in South Tyrol. In Mölten, you can find Arunda, the highest location for a sparkling wine manufacturer in Europe.
